The full cost picture for a New York LLC — state filing, annual compliance, any franchise or privilege taxes, and what our $299 flat service covers.
Most state filings price themselves in pieces — one fee for the Articles, another for an expedited option, a third for a certificate of good standing, and an annual report on top. The list below is what actually hits your card (or the state's portal) when you form a New York LLC with us.
New York has a publication requirement: within 120 days of formation, your LLC must publish a notice in two newspapers — one daily, one weekly — designated by the county clerk, for six consecutive weeks. After publication you file a Certificate of Publication with the Department of State. Costs vary by county and are steepest in Manhattan, where total publication expense routinely exceeds $1,500.
New York biennial report: $9 every two years.
New York tax notes: IMPORTANT: Publication requirement within 120 days of formation: six weeks of ads in two local newspapers ($300-$1,500+ depending on county) plus $50 Certificate of Publication fee. Biennial Statement $9 due every 2 years. Filing fee is $200 + $5 copy fee = $205 total. NYC-based LLCs subject to additional Unincorporated Business Tax.
Agent for service of process service is $119/year after the included first year. It's optional — you can designate yourself, an employee, or a different commercial agent at any time by filing a change-of-agent form with the NY Division of Corporations.
The $299 is a flat service fee. It is not:
Reservation takes three minutes. A formation specialist in Albany handles the rest.
